- With competition, will the reliability of my electric
service change? No. No matter which Retail Electric Provider (REP)
you choose, your electricity will continue to be delivered
safely and reliably by the local wires company, a
company regulated by the Public Utility Commission
of Texas (PUCT).
- Does OnPAC Energy have the same qualifications
as other established providers? Absolutely. In order to provide electricity in deregulated
areas in Texas, a REP must be certified by the
Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) and the
Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT).
OnPAC Energy is certified and approved by the PUCT
and ERCOT to serve as a REP to Texans. You can
rest assure that OnPAC Energy is working under the
same standards, rules and regulations as ALL the other
REPs operating in Texas, including TXU and Reliant.
- How do I know if OnPAC Energy is right for me?
Simply fax a copy of your electricity bill to us toll free
at 866-696-6722 and our sales representative will contact
you to determine your total savings.
- What values will OnPAC Energy add to my business?
OnPAC Energy will provide you with reliable electric
service, prompt response to your support needs, quick
turn-ons and competitive pricing. We can also provide customize
service based on your specific needs.
- Do I have to tell my current Retail Electric Provider
that I’m switching providers?
No. To switch your electric service to a new provider,
call or contact the Retail Electric Provider (REP) of
your choice. You do not need to contact your current
REP.
- Does OnPAC Energy charge any switching fees?
OnPAC does not charge a switching fee for on-cycle
(your scheduled meter read date) switching. You can
contact us to assist you in determining your meter read
date.
- Does OnPAC Energy charge any deposit?
It is our policy to verify your credit history upon your
request for service. We may require you to provide a
deposit not to exceed one-sixth of your annual bill.
- Will there be any interruption of service from the
time my service is canceled with my current provider
to the time I am switched over to OnPAC Energy?
No. Your transfer will be seamless. There will be no
period of non-service between the time you switch
from your current provider to OnPAC Energy.
- How long is the switching process and when can I
expect my first bill?
You can expect from 15 to 45 days for the switch from
your current provider to OnPAC Energy. It will then
take another 30 days before you receive your first bill
from OnPAC Energy.
- How long does it take to begin a new service?
OnAPC Energy will be able to turn up your service
within a standard of 3 to 5 business days. We also offer
expedited service to get you up sooner if necessary.
- What do I do if I experience an outage or emergency?
You can call the 24/7 outage number provided on your monthly electric
bill.
- What happens if my Retail Electric Provider leaves
the market? You will not be without electricity. Your REP must
give you 30 days advance notice to give you time to
switch to a new provider. However, if you do not
choose a new provider, your service will automatically
be defaulted to the designated Affiliated Retail Electric
Provider in your service area.

Energy Deregulation is happening in many parts of the United States. However, Texas has been touted as the model of choice. As of January 2002, Texas residents and businesses can choose their electric provider with rate at or below the "Price to Beat".
